A message from the Board of Directors at Rahab’s Sisters

Dear Community,

After five years of extraordinary leadership, Desiree Eden Ocampo is stepping down as Executive Director of Rahab's Sisters to become the next Executive Director of Rose Haven in July. We celebrate this transition wholeheartedly. Desiree Eden has helped shape Rahab's Sisters into a community defined by radical hospitality, radical inclusion, and an unwavering commitment to women, trans, and nonbinary people in our region. That legacy is built into the organization's foundation and will endure.

"I'm grateful for the entire Rahab's Sisters community of guests, volunteers, staff, partners and supporters who through their dedication and heart have taught me what radical hospitality and true service look and feel like. I'm proud of what we've built together and excited for the opportunity to share my leadership gifts with Rose Haven," says Desiree Eden Ocampo.

We are excited for this new opportunity for Desiree Eden, and thrilled that as two organizations doing deeply aligned work, she will continue to contribute to our shared mission, values and community. Based on the west side of the Willamette, Rose Haven provides day shelter, resources, emotional support, and community connections to women, children, and marginalized genders experiencing homelessness and poverty.

On the east side, Rahab's Sisters cultivates community with women, trans, and nonbinary people marginalized by poverty, houselessness, sex work, violence, and substance use. The Rahab's Sisters Board of Directors is actively working to ensure a thoughtful and stable transition and will share more about next steps as they develop.

Both organizations appreciate a shared sense of collaboration and are thrilled for their respective missions to continue with their dedicated community and staff, and the values that have made each organization strong.

We will share more updates soon. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Rahab's Sisters board with questions.

Sincerely,

Casady Monroe

Board President, Rahab’s Sisters
