Rahab’s Sisters (RS) builds community through radical hospitality with women, trans, and gender-queer folks marginalized by poverty, houselessness, sex work, violence, and substance use. Founded in 2003, we believe community is a basic human need essential to well-being, and that everyone deserves to feel they belong somewhere. Radical hospitality strives to break down barriers of fear, shame and judgment and create a healing space where individuals feel valued and find solidarity with one another.
Our team is passionate, energetic, and made up of community-minded folks who seek to share humanity with one another. Our community is made up of volunteers, Guests, program partners, and staff, each equally important in all spaces, sharing with and learning from one another. Rahab’s Sisters is a vibrant and unique organization that provides radical acceptance, with a primary focus on creating community with women, trans, non-binary, and gender-queer folks.
Rahab’s Sisters is an equal opportunity employer and committed to an inclusive, equitable, multicultural and radically hospitable work environment. We value lived experiences and volunteer experience alongside relevant work and education. We encourage Black, Indigenous and all persons of color; LGBTQ, gender-queer, non-binary, trans and anyone whose gender makes them vulnerable; folks with disabilities; survivors of violence; lived experience of systemic oppression due to housing status, poverty, drug use or sex work to apply. Our diversity and the different paths and experiences our team members have make us stronger and more effective.
